Schönbrunn Castle
Schönbrunn Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most important sights in Vienna. Originally built as a hunting lodge, it served as a summer residence for the Habsburgs for centuries. During a visit, you can explore the magnificent rooms and the historic gardens, which provide an insight into the life of the imperial court.
A highlight is the Great Gallery, which offers an example of imperial living culture with its impressive stucco ceilings and elegant tapestries. The castle park, designed in the Baroque style, invites you to take a stroll and also offers a wonderful view of the castle from the Gloriette, a monumental viewpoint.
Did you know that the castle has over 1,400 rooms, some of which you can visit? There are also regular guided tours and events that give you further knowledge about the history and culture. A visit to Schönbrunn Palace is not only educational, but also a welcome break in the middle of the city.
