Tempelhofer Feld
Sightseeing Tempelhofer Feld Berlin | guidable
Tempelhofer Feld is a former airfield in the south of Berlin, which is now used as a public park. It was one of the largest airfields in Europe and served as an important transportation hub during the 1920s and 1930s. During the Second World War and the post-war period, it was mainly used by the Luftwaffe and later by the Berlin Airlift. In 2008, the decision was made to cease flight operations and open the field as a park. Today, Tempelhofer Feld is a popular recreational area for Berlin residents and tourists, who can walk, cycle, inline skate, fly kites and even picnic on the old taxiways. It also offers a variety of leisure activities such as sports fields, an open-air museum and a farm.
