
Charles Bridge
Charles Bridge, one of the oldest stone bridges in Europe, connects the Old Town with the Lesser Town in Prague. It was built in the 14th century under Emperor Charles IV and is 516 meters long. There are 30 statues on the bridge depicting various saints and have impressive cultural significance. A special highlight are the double towers at the west end, which offer a view of the historic cityscape. Every year the bridge attracts millions of tourists who come to experience the unique atmosphere and street performers. It is particularly recommended to visit early in the morning when the bridge is not yet overcrowded. There are also numerous photo opportunities to capture the beauty of the surroundings. Charles Bridge is not only a masterpiece of medieval architecture, but also a place that brings Prague's history to life.
