The Olympic Stadium in Berlin was built in 1934 as part of National Socialist propaganda to host the Olympic Games in 1936. It was the largest stadium in the world and had a capacity of 110,000 seats. It was the scene of many historic events during the Second World War and the post-war period, including the military occupation of Berlin by the Allies and the division of the city. After the reunification of Germany, the stadium was extensively renovated and rebuilt to make it suitable for modern sporting events and concerts. Today, the Olympiastadion has a capacity of 74,475 seats and is a popular tourist destination as well as an important symbol of Berlin's history.
